Veterinary Assistant
Makena is a Veterinary Assistant who has always had a passion for animals. One of her favorite things about working at Saguaro is the positive environment and the opportunity to continually learn and grow alongside her team.
Before entering veterinary medicine, Makena spent four years as a certified mixologist and bartender. When she’s not caring for patients, she loves traveling, trying new restaurants, hosting friends and family, and has recently taken up chess.
At home, Makena shares her life with two dogs: Chip, a Boxer/Pit Bull mix, and Axl, a Terrier mix.
Originally from Washington State, Makena also has a fun connection to Hawaii—she was named after a beach there!
