I got my dog peanut in march of 2005 when she was about four months old. She was covered from head to toe in demodex and was basically completely bald and scabby. I finally took her to Saguaro Veterinary Clinic where she was treated for her skin condition. In the beginning I never had an opportunity to meet with Sr. Soltero so I never knew that the dry food that I was feeding Peanut was potentially hurting her, not helping her. Her demodex started slowly going away for some periods of time with the oral medication she was taking, however the demodex managed to reoccur every six weeks or so. The medicine made her sick sometimes and it worried me that she might have to take it for the rest of her life. I decided to take her to a skin specialist where I was basically told the same thing and just ended up spending a lot of money. About eight months later I finally got an opportunity to talk with Dr. Soltero about Peanut. He talked to me about her diet and suggested that I also give her some supplements to strengthen her immune system. I was willing to try anything at this point so I gave Dr. Soltero's diet a try. Peanut's hair coat started looking beautiful after a few weeks. I was sort of nervous to take her for her next skin scrape because I was so ready for her demodex to be completely gone. Sure enough the skin scraping was negative for mites and it was finally time to stop the oral medication. A couple months later we did another scraping to make sure the demodex did not reoccur and it has not since I started following the new diet. I am so grateful that Dr. Soltero shared his knowledge with me. I never knew something so simple, like changing my animal's diet, would make all the difference in the world. Thank you Dr. Soltero, we appreciate it more than you will ever know! Crissy
